Sometimes we look at sights in nature but don't really see. While hiking in the woods the other day, it became a realization that we need to open our heart and eyes to see the beauty of the simple things in nature with each season. There is so much order and purpose in His creation. God has given us awesome beauty in this world to see and enjoy... if we would but stop to see and feel it. A Mexican Dinner

                     DSC_3710

Last night Gerri and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, San Marcos. We know the owner and they are just a fun group to be around and the food is very good too. Stephen and Jennifer came down and met us for dinner. Stephen wanted to have a birthday dinner with me, so we did. I was glad to be able to share my birthday dinner with our son Stephen and his girl friend Jennifer. After dinner, the owner brought out some fried ice cream and they sung happy birthday to me in Spanish and English. Wonderful surprise, but they should stay in the restaurant business.

Seems like Stephen had a great month of August at work. He ended the month with the highest stats for smartphones, data and accessories. Sure makes for some mighty proud parents.

Well, our campground is full for the extended weekend. Nearby Callaway Gardens hosts an antique car show and a hot air balloon festival each Labor Day weekend. We didn’t make it over there Friday night, but they line the balloons around the beach and as it gets dark, they fire them up and have a ‘balloon glow”. We went a few years ago and it was just so pretty to see them glow at night. On the weekend they let the balloons up and off they go, weather permitting. Well, today was quite windy so they were unable to fly them up. However, they did some tether rides for those that wanted to lift off..about 50 feet.

It was a grand day and great birthday dinner with our son and Jennifer.

Hope all are having a grand Labor Day Weekend.

  6. What a great family dinner, I see the Birthday boy had his birthday hat on, here if you do Mexican on your birthday you have to swallow a shot of tequila with the worm in the glass,I am not a liquor man, I just like a cold beer, so this is extremely tough for me, I usually have Donna assist me to the car and drive home. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
