Sometimes we look at sights in nature but don't really see. While hiking in the woods the other day, it became a realization that we need to open our heart and eyes to see the beauty of the simple things in nature with each season. There is so much order and purpose in His creation. God has given us awesome beauty in this world to see and enjoy... if we would but stop to see and feel it. Join us as this blog is about stopping to see the real beauty around us...to touch and feel it... "Through the Lens".

A Ride and Walk into Nature

                                                DSC_4127

Serenity Now!  Gerri and I love this time of the year.  For those who live up north, fall is not in full swing here yet, but what beauty this time of year brings.  Today the high was in the low 70’s and the sky was a crisp clear blue.  We decided to venture out to Callaway Gardens again.

Each change of season is different there and it is so tranquil to ride and walk and be surrounded by nature (about 11,000 acres).  Since this is Monday, there were not many people in the gardens and we had it to ourselves…almost.

Rather than write a lot, I would love to just share some pics of the tranquility we felt today.

To be with your best friend, who is also my wife, and be surrounded by nothing but nature; what could be better!

Just look around at the beauty before us on such a lovely day.  Sometimes you just don’t want to leave because it is so pretty and peaceful.

We are so blessed to be able to spend all the time we want in such a natural setting and enjoy the beauty God has set in motion.

  2. Sounds like you had one of those magical Autumn days. It is a feeling like no other time of the year to walk in nature's beauty during the Fall. Our Autumn is gone now & we are into the cold, wet & bleak stage.

  20. Just this morning the director, and only employee, here where we are volunteering at Dooly Campground (a church camp) was talking about Callaway Gardens. Wondering how close you are to Vienna Ga. Maybe we could meet up. We are here until the 19th. Then we head toward Birmingham AL area.

  22. You are surrounded by beauty and by nature. Wonderful. I can feel your love of your surroundings. Today it is raining in Big Sur, California. We had a couple days during the week that felt like summer again but now fall has returned. Is it the same there?
