Sometimes we look at sights in nature but don't really see. While hiking in the woods the other day, it became a realization that we need to open our heart and eyes to see the beauty of the simple things in nature with each season. There is so much order and purpose in His creation. God has given us awesome beauty in this world to see and enjoy... if we would but stop to see and feel it. Join us as this blog is about stopping to see the real beauty around us...to touch and feel it... "Through the Lens".

Old Man Winter Comes South

Monday we woke up to 27 degree weather with a high of 40 and a 10-15 mile wind. Jeesh it is too cold. The local folks here say it is usually 15-20 degrees warmer this time of year. Oh well, we just bundle up a little more and make sure the basement stays warm for the water lines not to freeze.

Gerri and I drove to Fairhope, it’s a beautiful and quaint town. We went to the pier and walked out halfway, took a few pics and decided we would come back when it was a little warmer. We went to a few shops in Fairhope and did a driving tour of the town. We will revisit Fairhope again.

Later in the afternoon we went to the social hour at the Escapees club and met several people. Afterwards we lingered and talked with Gene and Judi and decided to get together Tuesday and do a little sightseeing together. After that we went back home, got the heater set and decided to stay in for the chilly night.

A good night for hot chocolate!
