This afternoon we had to take our 5 year old Shih Tzu Nick to the vet. Come to find out the doctor said he has acute colitis and he needs to stay in the pet hospital Saturday night. He has an IV for fluids for dehydration and medicine for diarrhea.
We may be out of pocket for a few days not making a post or comments on our friends blogs because our hearts and thoughts are on Nick. It was a year ago that we lost our 18 year old Shih Tzu Molly and that is still a hurt.
We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers and understanding about our brief absence from our blog and from commenting on you, our friend’s blogs.
Please take care and thanks.
We will be back as soon as we can.
Awwww, poor little Nick. I'll be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Take care you two!
ReplyDeleteOh guys..I will be saying a special prayer for him!! I do know the love and the loss these special gifts from God can be!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there..it sounds like you got him there on time!!
Hugs Cindy and Walker
So, sorry to hear about Nick. If it's any consolation our 14 month old pup Rylie had almost the same problem in May this year. We took her in early in the morning and Rylie was on an IV drip all day. Luckily, for us we were able to take her home with various medications to treat her. Rylie recovered quickly and is as good as new again. The problem, whatever it was, has not reoccurred.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope for the same prognosis for Nick and also hope that he is home with you again ASAP.
Here's what happened with our Rylie:
Rylie
We hope all goes well with the treatment.
ReplyDeleteAnimal medical care has sure changed a lot since I grew up on a farm. I had to take one of my daughter's dogs in a few days ago for an injury and it felt just like a regular doctors office.
I am sure he is getting good treatment.
Gerri and Mike, take care. I hope that Nick feels better soon!
